Information systems are growing very popular in most businesses and organizations all around the world. Although implementing information systems may seem like a fantastic idea for your company, there are numerous issues that can arise.

A lot of businesses struggle with the implementation of information systems for several reasons such as:

The implementation of information systems can take a lot of time and effort as employees must transfer all the companies’ data and records onto the new system this can take weeks or even months to complete. As a result, employees do not have the time to carry out their normal daily tasks in the workplace and this causes a backlog of work which will lead to customer upset and loss as the product or service is not being delivered in a timely manner. If the company is at a position to do so I think that employing people to do the transfer work would be a very good idea as the regular employees will not be wasting their time doing this and they can put all their time into their normal work as to not create a backlog.

The majority of times when an information system is implemented, the personnel does not receive the necessary assistance and training. Everyone will have varying degrees of IT capability, and regardless of the level, they are expected to be able to use the new system with little to no training or support. Employee frustration from this will make them feel unappreciated, which will make them less productive in doing their work.

When trying to implement an information system, funding can be a major obstacle for businesses because the cost of installing the necessary hardware and software is high and may result in a financial loss for the organization. In addition, businesses must pay the IT company that comes in to install and update the system. The cost of training the employees to use the new system will also be a financial hit by the business.
